Prima Ballerina Mini Sessions (York Pa Child Photographer)

Wow, I fell a bit behind on my blog posting during the Christmas rush! I wanted to share with you my latest project that I have been working on. If you ‘like‘ my facebook page you may have seen me posting images of these lovely little dancers.

    I created the Prima Ballerina series to capture the essence of what it feels like to play dress up. It isn’t just the literal way your little girl looks, but the way a fluffy tutu and pair of dance slippers make her feel. I was very inspired by the romantic portraits of ballerinas by Edgar Degas, and I wanted to make the little girls feel like a fairytale princesses.

The age for dress up and imagination goes by so quickly. It seems that little girls grow up even faster these days. Wouldn’t it be lovely to catch her at this stage of wonder and excitement?

These portraits are heirloom art pieces that your little girl will one day be able to show to her little girl.

Prima Ballerina sessions are scheduled for January 21st and 22nd & February 11th and 12.  The cost is only $45 and the mini session comes with a 5×7 art print.

M’s Senior Portraits { Red Lion, Pa. Photography }

I love doing senior portraits! This portrait session was a lot fun because we were able to capture a very wide variety of looks and feel without having to travel much. It was as if every time we turned, there was a completely different setting.
We ended up the session at the track to do some more athletic images.
In addition to her senior portraits, I designed a facebook timeline cover for when facebook switches over to timelines in the next couple of weeks.

Baby time! {York Pa Maternity Photographer}

It seems we are in the middle of a baby boom! I know so many ladies that are pregnant and having babies right now (maybe it is just my line of work…). I wanted to share some of the portraits from S’s maternity portrait session. Isn’t she gorgeous? She had the roundest, most perfect baby bump!

A’s Senior portraits { York Pa Senior Photographer }

I wanted to share some of A’s senior portraits with everyone. She was just THE cutest little thing, which makes my job even more fun than usual. We did some beautiful portraits down by the water and we did some studio portraits too. I love doing different locations, and combining studio and natural environments in the same session. It just adds to the whole experience, and it gives you much more to choose from and allows different sides of your personality to shine. Senior portraits are all about the chance to shine, and they are a celebration of this huge milestone.

T’s Senior Portraits (Red Lion Pa Senior Portraits)

Mommy and Me Mini Session { Red Lion Pa Photographer }

I think the concept for these sessions has been a long time coming. If you have ever had a session with me, you may have realized that I do always try to get the Mama in front of the camera, with kids or without. This has always been so important to me.

Here is why: As mothers, we are the ones behind the camera much of the time. We document the lives of our growing families, and the relationships between them.  As women, there is also a lot of pressure about our appearance and how we look. People put off having family portraits done until they lose 10 lbs or maybe they just feel shy about being in front of the camera (confession time: color me guilty on this one). And I just find that so sad, because it leaves a huge piece of the family puzzle missing when you go back and look at the family album years later. And if you think that, in 50 years when your children and grandchildren hold that picture of you and say “WOW, she is such a butterball!” you are probably wrong.

There is no other relationship in the world like a mother and child. Having children is all about sacrifice from about 20 minutes after conception on. We do things for them that you couldn’t pay us enough to do for someone else. And it is so rewarding (depending on the day) to watch them grow and discover the world. It is just such a beautiful relationship.

The relationship is really the concept behind the Mommy and Me sessions. It is not just a picture of what you look like. It is a portrait of the interaction, of the relationship of a mother and the most important thing in her world. And, yes, I offer full glamour retouchng for mom (and just between us girls, yes, I can take a couple pounds off in Photoshop). But I encourage you to book a session and have this era of your life captured. If you have a baby, toddler, or a teenager, this is something that you will be able to look back on and really feel happy you took the time to do this.

Smash the Cake Portrait Session ( York Pa Baby Photographer)

Today I am going to share some pictures of Little A’s cake smashing session! I really love all cake sessions, just because it is so much fun to give a one year old a cake to smash, but this session was really special to me. You see, I’ve been photographing this little princess since she was 5 days old.She was so beautiful then, and I have just loved watching her grow up for the past year.

So much bigger, yet just as beautiful as the week she was born. Even with a face full of cake!

Spring is finally in the air! I am sure with all of this *ahem* lovely rain we are having, the flowers will be peeking out soon! I just love how Spring is such a time of new beginnings. I am so ready to start off with MY new beginning and get my new studio into use!
